Michelle Sage Baker (cousin) who lives in Denver was a welcome frequent visitor. She often came by to see me and would call beforehand. Early on in my stay at Craig it was apparent I needed a tall chair next to my bed. It would make it easier for people to talk with me and at dinner time. Michelle called one day before she was coming to the hospital and I asked if she had time to stop by Walmart and pick up a barstool. She was happy to oblige my request. In route she stopped by a friend’s house and as luck would have it, the friend had just finished up a garage sale. And by coincidence, a blue barstool didn’t sell. Michelle loaded it up and brought it to the hospital. It proved to be a useful piece of furniture.
We decided it would be best to leave it at the hospital, as there was no room in the van (you may recall that discussion from a previous post). Dad acquired a sharpie and signed my name and the date on the underside of the chair and I passed it along to Randy Hayes. I gave him instructions to enjoy the chair, sign it when he’s finished, and pass it along to another with those instructions.
Trenton Baier’s family recognized my name on the chair in their room. Trenton’s name will be the 7th name.
