Hello Team Cameron,
It's been a couple of weeks since I posted and I'm going to blame it on writers block. The weather has been consistently cold over the last three weeks with an occasional day of sunshine to break some of the monotony of the winter. Today happened to be sunny and an excellent day to get out of the house if for only a couple of stops.
I got out last week to check out the blockbuster hit, Avatar. Not a bad movie, I was very impressed with the special effects and would call this a must see. If you don't make it to the theater be sure to put it on your rental list.
February is here and everyone has had 31 days to work on your New Year's Resolutions. Hope they are going ok.
I have had a couple of people call me to ask why I haven't gotten my post done and it's amazing the number of subjects I come up with at two in the morning to write about. It happened again last night at and I was quickly reminded of how convenient Post-it notes used to be.
As I laid there in bed I was reminded of a piece of advice given to me by one of my occupational therapist during my recovery in Colorado. She told me to get used to living with the equipment available to me.
I have always carried that piece of advice as a two part challenge. To “Work hard through rehabilitation with the equipment available to advance my health” and “Never let someone else determine my goals.”
This week marks the five-year anniversary of my moving home. I still remember my trepidation of the leaving the care of Craig hospital's nursing staff (the nurses were awesome) and coming home to what I feared would be something less than ideal. I'm sure you can imagine my relief after making the trip home and my homecoming upon arrival.
I still keep in contact with a couple of the nurses that helped me the most through my recovery and as far as the occupational therapist, she didn't return my call when I left her a message about the return in my lungs, flicker in my hands and feet and ability to sit.
I hope you'll have a great week and I promise to post again soon.
Love, Mark
