Hello Team Cameron,
What a game! The Olathe North Eagles took the field to a packed house in Blue Valley last Friday night and put on a hell of a show. The size of the crowd required additional seating which meant I had to sit on the running track. This gave cause to a comical moment, the quarterback when ditching the defender he threw the ball out of bounds bouncing the once on the ground and directly into my chest.
The Blue Valley Tigers gave the Olathe North Eagles the best fight they have seen all year. The Eagles had played the Tigers earlier in the season and beat them soundly. Friday night we saw a much improved Blue Valley team. The game was won in the final 14 seconds with a field goal from Olathe North giving Coach Flood and his team a Sub State Finals.
In to the Sub State title they will be given the opportunity to play for the title of State Champions Saturday, November 28 against the best Wichita has to offer. The game will take place in Topeka at theYager Stadium at one o'clock and everyone is invited. If it's anything like last Friday's 16-14 win you will definitely get your money's worth. Go Eagles!
As I’m looking at the upcoming week and the Thanksgiving holidays I would like to remind you to look a round have those things you are most thankful for and enjoy your family time. My family coined a term or all of those amazing and unexplainable events that have taken place since my accident as, "God Things."
- My family and their love and support.
- My friends and all they have done both with me and for me.
- My initial injury diagnosis was listed as ASIA-A (completely severed) and the fact that I have been upgraded to ASIA-C (signal through my zone of injury).
- My health; even through my paralysis I have been fortunate that I have not spent more time hospitalized or in bed. (It's common with my type of injury)
- My support system and everything they do, especially those of you behind the scenes that I've never been able to thank personally.
- All of those "God Things", to many to attempt to listen.
I hope people have a great Thanksgiving week, travel careful and eat well. Your family loves you.
Don't forget to bow your head for a moment and thank Him.
Love, Mark
