Hello Team Cameron,
It was a pretty quiet week for the most part here at 816 in fact it didn't start to liven up until the weekend. The weather was nice for most of the week, but got chilly by weeks end. Just in time for the American Royal BBQ contests.
You may recall, over the last few years, I have attended the BBQ contest. It is a who’s who’s of KC. Friday night I hung out at the “meat mitch” booth drinking beer and eating with friends. It was a cold night, but I had a good time none the less.
Saturday and Sunday it warmed up enough to get some sun and a little vitamin D. The temperature dropped off both evenings. Sunday evenings entertainment of course included the Cannonballer’s 6:00 p.m. game. You will be happy to know, that it resulted in another win. It was not as lop sided as last weeks game, but they are still fun to watch!
The Cannonballer’s play again next week at 6:00 p.m. I continue to invite everyone, but it seems like you are having trouble finding the fields. For those of you driving around O.P. on Sunday nights aimlessly, we will be at 137th and Antioch field 10.
This last weeks Prayer Power Surge reminded to look at the web site posts from five years ago, and it caused me to reflect on the true power of prayer. To put it in perspective, five years ago this week, I was graduating from 5 to 7 minutes on weaning from the vent. It blows my mind, the power of my dependency, both physical and psychological that machine had over me.
Keep that in mind, the next time you have a friend or family member that would benefit from the power of prayer! Please take ten minutes for those in need, it works wonders!
Take care, Mark
p.s. happy birthday to nephew Preston
