Hello Team Cameron,
Today is September 1 and we are looking at another Prayer Power Surge. I wanted to invite you all to pray at 6 p.m. for 10 minutes for everyone in and around Team Cameron need of a little help.
I usually watch for quotes that seem to embody the mood I'm in when I get started on these posts. I've used this quote before but it always comes back to me when I think of those different people I know that have come back from a battle against their many ailments. As I prepare to write this post today I was thinking of all of the people I know that have been fighting cancer.
A friend of mine that I recently met, she is just getting started with treatments for leukemia. She is a 25 year-old mother battling her fourth type of cancer and I just saw a picture of her on Facebook. She was on the plane to Texas for treatment ready to fight the good fight, armed with an attitude and a smile.
I went to a good luck/going away party for her and the evening was filled with laughter. She is an inspiration to so many that have followed her story and now she inspires me.
Someone else that I mentioned a few months ago is still working to beat her cancer demons. She's had her mastectomy and lost all of her hair during treatment and is still working toward the title, "Cancer Free Survivor."
I'm sure each if you know of at least one or two other people that are fighting to be cancer free and that's just one disease. As you can imagine I know a number of other people looking at the potential of a lifetime on wheels but clinging to the hopes of a cure.
I'm not writing this post to bring everyone down, it's more of a reminder that we all have so much to pray for when you are evaluating your own lives and the lives of people around you. I guess I'm writing this post to give everyone inspiration. I want to show each if you that these friends of mine and people you know can get up each morning ready for a fight that you too can get out of bed can accomplish anything you want.
The Prayer Power Surge takes place on the first of the month at 6:00 p.m. and only last for 10 minutes but if you took 30 seconds to pray for the first person that comes to mind you never know what benefits that would bring. I'm proof that the power of prayer does work. Thanks to all of you that pray for me.
"When we walk to the edge of all the light we have and take the step into the darkness of the unknown, we must believe that one of two things will happen. There will be something solid for us to stand on or we will be taught to fly."
Have a great week. Mark
