Hello Team Cameron,
I want to thank everyone that was able to participate in the Prayer Power Surge last week. I know it works and I'm not the only one that benefits. Let me know if you need to include anyone in next month's power surge.
Last week the family celebrated the Fourth of July at the Kansas City Wizards soccer game. The Wizards are the professional soccer team and they play on the outfield of the T-Bones stadium. Other than the loss and the unseasonably cold weather we had a great time. After the game we stuck around for a fireworks show.
My niece, Stevi, and nephew, Davis, were visiting all of last week from Colorado and joined us at the wizards game. As the temperature dropped so did their interest in professional soccer, we entertained them with a couple of trips to the playground but in the end she announced that she wanted to leave.
My sister explained that if she could wait through another 30 minutes of soccer she would be able to watch the Kansas City Kansas fireworks display. At this point, Stevi, told us, “the only thing more boring than soccer is fireworks!"
This gave us all a good chuckle but of course we couldn't laugh out loud. We quickly change the subject and took her for another trip to the playground. The Wizards lost the game but the fireworks show was worth the wait. I was relieved as we were loading into the van that night that both Stevi and her little brother decided that they enjoyed the soccer game but loved the fireworks.
I'll have to tell you another funny story about my nephew Davis. At the age of three he still has a little trouble with his speech the letter K sounds like a T. As you can imagine this can make conversations a little more difficult but it's fun nonetheless.
On occasion I will ask someone to scratch an itch and as Davis and I were hanging out I asked him to scratch me on top of the head. After only an instant I realized what “Uncle Mawk, aren’t my taws sharp?” actually means. He had about three nails on his right hand that had grown longer than would normally be comfortable scraping over the top of your head. I definitely got what I was asking for.
I'm sorry to see the two of them heading home on Monday morning. I hope they can come back very soon.
As you all know last weekend was the Fourth of July and I hope everyone took a moment to acknowledge everyone that has sacrificed for our freedoms. After reading this post as you guys are carrying on with your everyday lives be sure to take a moment to thank a Veteran.
Have a great week.
