Hello Team Cameron,
I had a quiet week but a busy weekend. I started working on the Push America visit. The riders are scheduled to arrive July 19th and departing July 21st. They are a group of cyclist that ride from the west coast to Washington D.C., raising both money and awareness to the needs of the disabled community. You can find more information on PushAmerica.com.
Friday afternoon, I went Topless! My good buddy Donnie stopped by to pick me up in his convertible. Using my lift system we were able to set me in his car. This would be the first time in a convertible. It was quite a different view. My van is equipped with a forward facing camera because I am too tall to see out of the windows.
What an incredible view to see Olathe’s changes after 4 ½ years. We cruised 40 miles over 2 ½ hours. Needless to say, I wore a hat to protect my hair from the wind and my head from the sun.
I want to thank Donnie for taking the afternoon off work and Kyle and Erin for helping to execute the transfer from my chair to the car. Sorry we had to leave you behind. I would also like to thank Mother Nature for granting us a Sunny, 80 plus degree to enjoy.
I let Donnie drive this time.
Saturday afternoon, we spent on the patio testing my new smoker. A golf sponsor gave me a new unit as a surprise after the tournament. We tested recipes for both Ribs and potatoes. I am looking forward to more testing this weekend. If you are looking for a smoker you can find more information at www.americanbarbequesystems.com .
Sunday afternoon, Susan and I headed to nephew Preston’s city soccer tournament. We arrived a little late just missing his goal but just in time to witness a torrential downpour. Using the term torrential is mild. The weather went from calm and sunny when we were unloading the van, to 15 minutes of sideways rain.
This was the worst weather I have been caught in but I would like to thank the half a dozen or so people that attempted to get me back in the van. They did win the game and the tournament although I only saw three minutes of play. Thanks again to Mother Nature for reminding me to carry an umbrella; it’s not always sunny and 80.
Have a great week!
Love, Mark
