Team Cameron,
The Cannonballers are back and starting this season with a check mark in the win column. Our illustrious team played a chilly 9 p.m. game like the seasoned veterans you expect. I heard from my "source" that most of the players were feeling the effects of a long winter and lack of exercise. Many were complaining about being out of shape. However, with the momentum from last year's championship it's still going to be tough to stop them.
Next week we are playing at 6 p.m. and would love to have a few more people on the sidelines. Get the kids loaded in the car and grab a bucket of chicken. You are going to want to see these guys in their prime.
The golf committee has another meeting scheduled for next week but that doesn't mean they aren't working hard. The invitations were sent via snail and email. If you are looking for additional information you can get your printable copy at www.teamcameron.org/golf2008.pdf
As I was getting ready to write this post, I looked over my week and was reminded of a movie I wish I wouldn't have seen and a dinner I wish I wouldn't have ordered. But as I got ready to write about my "turmoils", I was reminded of three conversations I had today with three different friends who could use your prayers. There is a good quote we should be reminded of - "be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle."
Dieting sucks. I was told by the doctors that I needed to shave a few pounds. I told the fat basturd to mind his own business. At the time of my accident, I was 6/4, 225 pounds and had the metabolism of a 5th grader. I've never had to watch my diet before and now I know what everyone complains about. So, if all goes according to my 6 week plan, I'm going to lose 10 pounds by the golf tournament. Good luck to everyone in keeping your Lenten commitments, I offer you a challenge that if I can lose these 10 pounds, you shouldn't have a problem with your reaching your goal.
Happy St. Patrick's Day to all!!!
Love,
Mark
