Team Cameron,
I would like to wish my favorite mother a big Happy Birthday. Feel free to call her on Wednesday March 11th.
We are beginning to get some serious interest in the upcoming golf tournament. In fact a local TV and appliance store called Alexander and Ray's just donated a new frontload GE washer and dryer. In addition, we have plans to preview some of these items here on the website so be sure to check back. If you've got auction ideas for the tournament feel free to e-mail auction@teamcameron.org.
You all should have received an e-mail with details about the upcoming tournament. With the May 1 date the committee is looking forward to planning a full golf tournament and post dinner party/auction to follow. In addition to the golf tournament on Friday night there will be another Wine Tasting on Thursday night. Check back for additional information on all the events.
Big news - The Cannonballers are back!
The Cannonballers will be taking the field on Sunday night March 15. Let me remind you they will be coming back still hot of their undefeated season last fall when they left the field as seasonal champions. I'm sure they will be hitting the ground running. I don't have a game time yet but check in later in the week and I will post it.
Even bigger news – Barack Obama signs executive orders lifting the restrictions of federal funding for stem cell research.
I usually don't express any political or moral opinions because I don't want to offend any portion of my readers. The other night I received an e-mail from a sibling sharing their relief and excitement for what lies ahead in the field of stem cell research. I was reminded of how growing up my parents could openly disagree politics and opinions and in doing so it allowed us to establish our own beliefs.
On a number of occasions I have expressed gratitude and praise and asked each of you to also to honor all of those men and women that have sacrificed their lives in the military giving us the freedom to choose a side of any belief. I'm sure there are a number of you that may disagree with what our newly elected president has done just like the rest of you that disagreed with our former president's actions to disallow the same bill.
I would like to invite each of you to take a moment and say a quick prayer for our military and their families and another for our politicians and the decisions they make that affect each of us.
Love,
Mark
(Mindy, Thank you for your post and allowing your students the opportunity to educate themselves on the benefits of stem cell research. Their research today could be the beginning of a cure.)
