Mark has been a customer of mine for the past 7 years. His company has purchased exhibits from me from time to time. Mark has also pulled us out of several pinches when we needed specialty metal fabricated.
Last year Mark began the process to design a brand new trade show exhibit for the company where he works. We spent many hours over several months deciding on components, graphics, shipping cases etc. You name it and Mark wanted it nailed down to the last detail. Then he wanted to change the detail and hammer that down too!
After several weeks of this back and forth on the design issues I told him about a fellow exhibit builder friend of mine who designs the exhibits for Sony Playstation. At the end of the tradeshow where Playstation was being featured, the chief marketing guy for them came to my exhibit builder friend and said "you have worked very hard, now go home and enjoy the time off".
When my friend arrived home he found a brand new Lexus 4-wheel drive vehicle sitting in his driveway courtesy of Playstation. I might also add at this point that Sony spent several million dollars on this exhibit.
(Mark's company spent just a little less than that. ;D)
Finally all of the details had been hammered out and the exhibit delivered, Mark came by to be trained on set up. Once all was finished he had a funny grin on his face and he said, "oh, Karen I got your car" He reached into his pocket and pulled out a little yellow hot wheels Lamborghini. I nearly died laughing. It is on display on a shelf in my office and even though I can't drive it, it is the nicest car anyone has ever bought for me.
Thanks Mark for your sense of humor and Godspeed on your recovery.
