10 years or more ago, before Cameron and I had become close friends, as we are now, we happend to be on the ski slopes together with a big group of guys. Somehow, I was roped into going to the top of the mountain with these expert trailblazers to ski straight down in about 2 feet of powder which was way out of my league. I was awesome for about 30 feet then had a wipe-out worthy of a Xtreme crash video award.
Anyway, as the rest of the group became ants on the bottom of the slope, Mark saw that I was having trouble, stopped, sidestepped up a 90 degree slope for 50 yards, tamped the powder for 1/2 hour to find my skis, and helped me get to the bottom.
It may not sound like much to some, but unless you have been in that position you don't know what an effort that was for Mark.
I have several close, life-long friends, but it may have been at that moment that Cameron joined the list.
