This isn't a funny story, but I thought an appropriate place.
I had secured a large commercial "piering" job and had run into a very large roadblock. I didn't have a dealership to get piers . Important thing to have! I had the contract and they had signed the deal. They said all they needed was a few little details cleaned up! I had pitched to company I was familiar with. They wanted it, but a large dealer of theirs was blocking it. So, Rick Sheridan and I go over to ECP and say hey, Mark, what do ya think about THIS ;D ;D I said we only need a couple of things. An engineering stamp to certify that the product will do what you say(This is not an easy task. An engineer is putting their livelyhood with that stamp and it better be right) (This was before Mark & Aaron had done some great things. Aaron wasn't officially on board yet.). The second thing is, we need it, like in two days. And third, we need all the equipment to make this happen within 2 weeks Mark goes into overdrive and puts the thing together. It was impressive to see that boy work as hard as he did for a no-name, little KC contractor.
It is still like that today. You really never know he is working with other contractors. You know he does, but he never reallly gives you the, you're not important and you can wait for mighty me to get back to you attitude When you are on the phone with him, you know he is busy, but he personalizes the conversation and makes you feel as though you are the only contractor with needs.
I'm sure there are a few hundred of these little stories out there from his dealers.
Thank you for all you do and who you are! Get well, we are praying for you!
