Mark had a difficult night. He is having problems with lung function, and had to have a bronchioscopy late last night. The labs haven't come back on that yet, but with the megadoses of antibiotics that he is receiving, he is going to be getting better soon. The physical therapists had Mark sitting up in a chair this morning. After being in a bed, for over a week it's a slow process and blood pressure has to be closely monitored. Mark kept pushing though, and wouldn't quit until the therapists had him sitting straight up. He is resting quietly now, and getting ready for his date with a rep from a rehab facility. Your continued prayers are appreciated. (Your clinical research is also appreciated. Direct those emails to bkfranke@aol.com) Monday evening - Brandon (the ICU nurse) is our new hero. He turned Mark's bed today, so Mark can now look out the window. That will, hopefully, provide a much-needed diversion. Mark's date went well. He made it clear to the Craig Hospital rep that he wants to start rehab "yesterday". She is not concerned about the pneumonia issue, or the ventilator, as Craig has the ability to deal with both. We will keep you informed of his travel plans.
