On Thursday, Mark woke up in a good mood and with clear eyes. He is smiling and seems in great spirits.
He started out the day with respiratory tests. He did better at the tests than he did on Wednesday. However, he is still not where he needs to be to have the ventilator removed. It was determined by Mark’s pulmonary doctor, Dr. Simpson, Mark will need a tracheotomy. Dr. Simpson said it will be scheduled on Friday 9/17. This is a temporary solution and Dr. Simpson will continue to monitor Mark’s breathing.
Mark has really signed on to an aggressive approach to rehab. The time table has been moved up to transfer Mark from ICU to his rehab assignment. The doctors, Mark, and the entire Cameron family are still exploring all options for rehab assignments.
Thank you for the continued thoughts and prayers.
